From 20 July onwards most new
updates will appear here www.kevin-newton.blogspot.com It's easier for me to update, so you should see more regular updates.
The last seven years of info and archives will remain here; probably forever. And if
the work fairy grants me more time I might even revisit and tidy up the thousands of pages
here.
A fairly daft video I put
together years ago. John Phillips... you might want to look away...
.

The original video hosting
company went belly up and a few people have asked me to put this video back up, so here it
is.

New link to Air Outdoors added - Rab gear is
just the best!
One place in the Barn on Lundy has become available - this is the perfect way to do
the trip if you are on a budget. Please email Lynda immediately if you are interested.
URGENT - a property on Lundy has become available to house four people.
Please email Lynda immediately if you are
interested. To those already going, once I'm back from Spain I'll update the
webpages with ideas for our trip - 2 days of F3F and 3 days of other fun flying stuff?...
If you've been thinking about
coming to the Lundy F3F and are worried that all the
properties are booked up there may still be one or two places on the island left, or you
could of course camp. Contact Lynda
for details.

Bwlch page updated with a couple of new slope records.
Too
busy working and getting things ready for the Welsh Open since I got back from Slovakia to
do much here I'm afraid. Over the next few weeks you should get a Slovakia write up,
a comparison and mini reviews of the Ascot, Short Ascot and Ceres as well as a write up of
the Welsh Open.
In the meantime here are the final pictures from our
most excellent time in Slovakia.

VKR 2008 - update 4 - a few more
videos prior to the full write up
Welsh Open news:
1. We have booked a buffet for Saturday night; details are here.
2. VV Model have donated a
Mini Corado!
3. Check your entry details and send me your teams.
And finally, thanks to Mike Shellim for his
typically splendid coverage of the English Open here.

The Welsh Open is again sponsored by our good friends at
Sorry about the lack of updates for a while, work is bananas at the
moment, so I didn't get to go out and play for a month. On the plus side I'm heading
to La Madeleine and La Muela for 3 weeks very soon. As usual I'm frantically trying
to get something new ready for the trip. This time it's an F3B Skorpion with flat tips, a
few neat developments, very good quality and a slick carbon finish that even GT likes.
There's also an electric fuselage waiting for bits to go in it but I can't see that
happening in time - it's very impressive though. I'll hopefully post some pics soon.
The one time I
have managed to get out lately was rather fun. WL5 results and the final league
outcome make Knewt and the Skorpion smiley. Report and photos here.
Also, please note that I have
finally given up trawling through the hundreds of spam e-mails I get each day and just let
my filter dump them. So if you don't get a reply within a week please resend.
I've just completed Skorpion
and took the opportunity to record the set up in case anyone wants to compare.

You know the Ocelot donated by the
wonderful people at DS
Model for the Welsh Open... well this is it - awesome!
1-8-06
Welsh Open prizes - you lucky
people!
Thanks to the wonderful people at DS Model you could become the proud owner of an Ocelot.
There's also a very good chance that Cubitt's Models will come up with some of their much sought after
goody bags.
Kevin
Dixon lost his Halfpipe on the back of wrecker last week. Somewhere near the tallest
outcrop of rocks. Fluorescent green and white top, black and fluorescent yellow bottom. If
anyone retrieves it give him a call on 07974253919.
After many effort to complete
the F3F Winter League we finally ran out of dates, meaning the only scoring competition
was this one and knewt
gets the Winter League title to add to the UK League title.
All I need to do now is find
the time to get some toys together for La Madeleine and La Muela...
28-2-06
Big winds, two
person launches and fast times on the Wrecker - photos here.
Also... good to see that Dave
Wright and Paul Garnett are back in business. As usual they are bringing some great
products in - visit www.t9hobbysport.com
and treat yourself.
29-1-06
Silky smooth day
on the Wrecker - couple of photos here.
28-1-06
DSing at Black
Hill and Mark Southall's shiny new SRTL are here.

Found an early Knewt bit of
video editing lurking on my hard drive and thought I'd share. There's a rather rude bit of
model box graffiti so please don't click here if you're under 18.
You can't help
but like the look of the Energy from F3X.
3-8-05
As the Welsh Open is coming up I thought I'd post my old write up of the Welsh Viking Race from 1998. Some quick stats from
that... 1 in every 7 flights was below 40 seconds. One day had 280 flights with 54 of them
below 40 seconds, with a slowest round winning flight of 35 seconds...

BMFA Slope
Nationals / League 4, results and photos here, words to follow soon.

Does the tape
you use to keep your wings on leave gunk behind when you peel it off? Does it go brittle
and break into a thousand pieces when it's cold? You need this from Hilaunch.com. Used it, love
it, buy some.
League 6 F3f
cancelled due to lack of wind, so off to Lords Hill.
31-8-04
Back by popular
demand - well Nathan asked anyway - ye olde toejob video from Spain in September 2001. A
whole bunch of us were due to fly to the States on September 12, 2001 but cancelled
flights saw us back on La Muela doing stupid things like this. Only 3mb and not really
edited, just grabbed it out of the holiday video.
I'm really enjoying this Banana thing. Had
great fun today in light air. It thermals like a dream and I even got some DS out of it on
the Wrecker. A few more photos added here
31-12-03
Happy New
Year!!!
Before I go to the pub, here's some aerial
photography stuff

Flown the Banana
on three separate occasions now. See what I (and others) think of it here

Woolly Backs
Winter F3F. Some photos and a few words are here, results to follow soon
Had some good times with the Banana,
more tomorrow.
Two, count 'em,
two updates today - granted they're both rubbish, but that's not the point!
1. Some more photos from Czech prove once and
for all the Knewt has too many toys.
2. UK F3F League 5 photos - great win for John
McCurdy.
31-7-03
Lurking on my
hard drive I found this story about the painful birth of F3F in
the States.

July 2003 sees
Knewt, Rundle and their womenfolk return to the RC Hotel in Corfu to help Karl and Terri
Pashley indulge in a little matrimony. See the photos

What does Knewt
think of the production Pike Brio? Here's the answer.
At last, the
written report of the Funbus tour to
accompany the photos.
15-6-03
Not only does
the Knewt take photos - he's actually written some bloody words!
A report and some photos from my visit to Roman ( www.lomcovak.cz ) and Samba in the Czech Republic are here.
27-5-03
Instructions
posted here for the servo mounts advertised here.
Also,
there will be a write up of the funbus trip posted in a few days - Knewt's actually done
some work!
25-4-03
Photos from the Funbus tour of La Madeleine, Bilbao and La
Muela.
Had such a good time you might even get a few words...
Bilbao F3F 18-19
April 2003 - see some photos of the hill.
More info to follow soon.
29/12/02
Turns out the
weather was crap today and the Woollybacks F3F didn't happen. If it's any consolation,
Greg and I had a great time the previous day. Some photographic evidence is here.
19/12/02
Come fly in the
Woollybacks Winter F3F at the Bwlch on Sunday 29th December - 10.00 for 10.30 start.
The usual F3F rules apply, supplemented by the now traditional "you fly down, you
feck off" rule.
Anyone coming for a sport fly and/or beerage on the Saturday, drop me a line and I'll let you know the arrangements.
BTW, used a Lolo for the first time
today, very interesting indeed.
More to follow soon but here are a few pics for
now.
As a clue, the summary will read along the lines of... go and buy one now!
25/9/02
Marcel Guwang
and Roman Vojtech have made the dizzy heights of the people
page.
The VKR report is delayed, too much work, and too much flying as well - life is half good
:-)
13/9/02
Some photos from the 2002 Viking Race - a report will
follow in a few days.
18/8/02
A few more in
flight Brio photos and a bloody quick DG1000.
The Brio has a few hours air time now, and I couldn't be happier with it.
I'll try and find time to do a report soon.
10/8/02
At last a few
(literally 2!) photos of the Brio in its
element.
4/8/02
Pike Brio takes
to the air and a word about Volz here.
Some photos from BMFA League 3 F3F and 60"
Pylon. Two great competitions - particularly for me as I happened to win both, I think
it's the first F3F and Pylon double. Full results are here.
17/5/02
Pete Rundle,
Keith Nicholls, Karl Pashley and myself are going to the RC Hotel for the first two weeks in July. Other than the usual flying
toys we're taking these with us.
12/5/02
Just a few photos from a perfect day on the Back of the
Wrecker. Should have taken more but I was far too busy enjoying my old Pike WR Prototype
(yes, I still have the well-travelled bundle of fun) in the awesome lift.
